Lisbon
LISBON is the capital of Portugal, the westernmost country of Europe, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Spain. Portugal has a rich culture echoed in its flamboyant folklore, the Fado, differentiated architecture, including its dazzling tiles and sidewalks, distinct painting and literature references... A contemporary, cosmopolitan, and entrepreneurial country that excels without overlooking the importance of hospitality.
Its capital Lisbon, true to form, is a historical city full of stories to tell, intermixed with cultural entertainment and hi-tech innovation, flanked by seven hills that extend to the vast Tagus estuary.
LISBON has always appeared as bright and generous in the eyes of visitors. The sun shines 290 days a year and the temperature rarely drops below 15ºC. It is the perfect city for the most demanding events: sunny, full of movement and interesting things to do, offering excellent venues and hotels.
Choose everything Lisbon has to offer.
We look forward to welcoming you in Lisbon!

About the Space
The current headquarters of the Foundation were inaugurated in 1969, in Lisbon, and comprise the head-office itself and the museum, designed by Ruy Athouguia, Pedro Cid, and Alberto Pessoa. The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation also has a delegation in the United Kingdom (UK Branch) and a centre in Paris (the Calouste Gulbenkian Cultural Centre).
In addition to the areas occupied by the Foundation's management and departments, the premises include a large auditorium, a space for temporary exhibitions, a congress area with secondary auditoriums and other rooms, as well as a large building that houses the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum and the Art Library.
The entire complex is set in the Gulbenkian Park, which was designed by Ribeiro Telles.
