We report Lagrangian particle tracking measurements in a realistic class room setting in order to study the spread of airborne pathogenese in such an enviroment. The setting consists of a 6 m × 4 × 2.8 m large room with transparent sidewall and a transparent ceiling, in which chair and desks were place similar to an actual class room. The influence of students was simulated by six realistic heated dummies sitting on the chair at the desks, of which one was further equipped with an artificial lung. The room was seeded with about 700 µm large helium filled soap bubbles and illuminated by in total 2696 single LEDs. Images were acquired using 8 streaming cameras with 65 Mpx sensors. With this setup we could follow up to nearly 2 million individual particles for several minutes under different ventilation scenarios. These scenarios include the effect of of open windows, the presence of a walking teaching in front of the class room, or an active air filtration device.
