This paper investigates the flow dynamics of turbulent water jets as they interact with a water free surface. Building on recent experimental work on submerged particle-laden jets, this research expands the analysis to single-phase and bubbly plunging jets. A high-resolution experimental investigation is carried out through Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) measurements. The central objective is to produce a comprehensive, high-fidelity dataset that elucidates the coupled effects of the Reynolds and Froude numbers on single-phase and two-phase flow regimes ensuing from jet-surface interaction.
